F1A, F1B and F1C – TUI CUP 2020


Entry Fee is $20.00 NZD for the event. This is a low key event incorporated into the New Zealand Nationals FAI Combined event and scores are eligible for both the NZ Nationals Combined event and World Cup event, provided Competitors have a current FAI Licence. Entry fees to be paid in $NZD at the Clareville Showgrounds, Carterton, New Zealand, at The Nationals, Registration desk. A $30 NZD Registration fee will also apply.

For Overseas Visitors pre entry is required by the 1st December 2019 but payment can be made on arrival at the Nationals HQ by no later than 6pm on Tuesday 31st December.

Travel: The closest airport is Wellington at the bottom of the North Island New Zealand. Some people may want to take holidays by travelling from Auckland in the North Island or Christchurch in the South Island and taking the Inter Island Ferry from Picton to Wellington.

Basic directions to Carterton, A&P Showgrounds ( Nationals HQ )from Wellington: Get onto State Highway 2, heading through Upper Hutt and over the Rimutaka Hills down to Featherston and on to Carterton.( Approximately 1.5 to 2 hours ). At the Northern end of the outskirts of Carterton, turn left into Chester Road, following the hedge line to the A& P showgrounds on the right and turn in by the Railway Line. If you are using a GPS device, enter Carterton Showgrounds.

Directions from Carterton A&P Showgrounds to Free Flight Field: Turn left into Chester Road, go to State Highway 2 and turn left. On the lefthand sweeping bend, veer Right onto Hughes Line. Turn right into Francis Line and go to the T intersection at the end. Turn right into Carters Line, then Left into Gladstone Road. Follow the Hedge line on the left and turn into the driveway with white concrete fence. Look for small ff sign. Drive slowly past the house and woolshed to the paddocks. Leave all gates as found. A toilet is located in the woolshed up the steps. Porta potti tent and toilet also will be available.

Emergencies: For Fire, Police or Ambulance dial 111. There are no snakes in New Zealand and no threatening Wild animals near the property. There is bees on the property and sometimes electric fences. If you are allergic to bee stings or have any other medical issues we need to know about, please contact the organiser. We do have a defibrillator available.

Accommodation: There are various types of accommodation available from tented sites at the Carterton A&P Showgrounds, caravans that can be delivered onsite, cabins or tenting at the Carterton Camping Ground, to Motels, Hotels, nearby in Carterton or Masterton or further away at Martinborough. Homestay’s are another option. Campervans can also be parked at either Campground.

Rounds: 5 x 1 hour Rounds starting at 0700 NZ time January 2nd 2020. First Round Max, 240 seconds. Rounds 2, 3, 4, 5, 180 seconds unless certain hazardous conditions exist. Flyoffs to follow. Times to be announced on the day. Practice is possible on the two previous days.

Timekeeping: there are no official timekeepers, although there will be some random timekeeping being done by officials. Timecards will be issued and Time keepers must get the times checked at the official desk.

Processing: Random Processing will take place by the jury, especially towlines and F1B Rubber Weights and F1C motor runs.
